Norma J. Crowell, 84, of Crestline, died from a sudden illness on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Crestline Nursing Center, Crestline.
Norma was born in Loudonville on October 20, 1933 to the late Bill E. and Pearl M. (Smith) Halblaub. She married Richard F. Crowell on October 18, 1958 in Loudonville and he preceded her in death on June 22, 2007.
Norma was a member of the former First English Lutheran Church in Crestline. She was a former beautician and employed for twenty-five years by Law the Florist of Crestline. Norma had a “green thumb” with her beautiful flower beds and the plants and flowers she had in her families’ homes. She enjoyed being at home and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially watching them play sports. Norma was a sports fan of The Ohio State University, the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Kay and Larry Booth, her son, Robert Mark Crowell, Crestline, her four grandchildren; Erica (Craig) Burkhart, April (Nate Berner) Phillips, Michelle (Allen) Eckert, Whitney (Brian Barnett) Booth, and her five great-grandchildren, Ella, Kenzie, Brin, Braxton, and Aiden, her sister, Charlotte Lavender, Loudonville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her stillborn daughter, Kathy Jean Crowell, and her brother Billy Halblaub.
Friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 4, 2017, at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 West Main St., Crestline with Pastor Diana Seaman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family for Norma’s great-grandson, Braxton’s medical expenses in care of the funeral home.
