Naomi Christine Schenk, age 90, formerly of Nevada, passed away at 8:30 pm, on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center in Upper Sandusky.
Christine was born in Kehoe, Kentucky, on July 4, 1934, to Arch and Lillie (Robirds) Robertson. Christine was married to Harold E. Schenk on January 17, 1953, in Greenup, Kentucky, and he preceded her in death on October 28, 2004.
Christine is survived by her son Ralph E. Schenk of Bucyrus, daughter Beverly J. Dyer of Bloomville, son in law Gene Butler, grandchildren, Lindsay Dyer, Jessica Butler Banichek, Chuck and Cassie Hessey, great grandchildren, Levi, Iris, and Callen. Christine is also survived by brothers Ewing Robertson of Upper Sandusky and Edgar Robertson of Cottonwood, AZ, and his sister Merieta Wolfe of Chillicothe, OH.
Christine was preceded in death by her father Arch Robinson, mother Lillie Thomson, step father Harold Thomson, husband Harold Schenk, daughter Karen S. Butler, daughter in law Sharon Schenk, son in law Roger Dyer, grandchildren Jesse Schenk, Jeremy and Jason Butler, and siblings: Wilson, Emma, Elbert, Walter, Clifford, Raymond, Thomas, Luther, Minnie, Earnest, Margaret, Arch Jr., and Opal.
Christine was a homemaker primarily, raising her three children. Christine also worked at Fairhaven Community as an aide, and she worked as a cook at the restaurant in Nevada, and at AMVETS in Upper Sandusky.
Christine was a member of the Pentecostal Tabernacle Gospel Church in Oceola, former member of the VFW, AMVETS, and Moose Lodge, all in Upper Sandusky.
Christine enjoyed tending to her garden and canning her vegetables. Naomi enjoyed going to garage sales to look for her treasures, singing karaoke, loved bluegrass gospel music, collecting dolls, angels and other knick-knacks, and especially visiting with friends and family.
A funeral service for Naomi Christine Schenk will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Lucas-Batton Funeral Home in Upper Sandusky, and will be officiated by Wayne Robertson. Burial will follow at Nevada Cemetery.
Visitations will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
