Nancy L. Best, 75 of rural Bucyrus passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021, at Galion Community Hospital from Complications due to COVID. Nancy was born August 9, 1946, in Bucyrus to the late Harold and Doris (Ulmer) Schiefer. She was married on January 14, 1978, to William C. “Bill” Best who preceded her in death on May 14, 2012. She was also preceded in death by brother-in-law Dale Smith and Mother in Law Sally Hare.
Nancy is survived by children Randy (Cindy) Gottfried of Massilon, OH, Tammy (Tony) Craig of Erie PA, and Kristy (James Snodgrass) Best of Columbus; grandchildren Chase, Amber, Bradley, Nathan, Dustin, Briana, William, Logan, Cameron, Chandler, and Phoebe; great-grandchildren Kiersten, Caitlynn, Liam, Kierah, Maizie, Natalie, Taylynn, and Kellen; sister Barb Smith of Chatfield and father in law Leo Hare of Bucyrus.
Nancy retired from the former Wire Assembly in Bucyrus. She enjoyed gathering with her friends, shopping, going to garage sales, feeding and watching the birds, and most of all she loved her grandkids.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 pm in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with son-in-law Tony and grandson Dustin conducting the service with burial to follow in Crawford Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the time of the service on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
