Michael W. Garverick, age 70, of Columbus passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday February 10, 2022.

 

Born November 26, 1951 in Galion, he was the son of Robert W. and Betty J. (Rinehart) Garverick.

 

Mike was a graduate of Northmor High School class of 1970. He was a Vietnam veteran having served in the U. S. Army.   He was a salesman for many years and retired from Willoughby Supply. He loved baseball and played in many leagues. He loved the Cleveland Browns and was a member of the Columbus West Side Browns Backers. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grilling on his back patio. He took great pride in his yard. Mike was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.

 

Mike is survived by his mother; Betty J. Garverick of Iberia; his companion Dianne Bowman of Columbus; his daughter, Jeanna (Tim) Umscheid of Manhattan, KS; other special loved ones: Darren Oetinger and Marc Bowman; a granddaughter Allison Umscheid; two sisters: Darla J. Garverick of Galion and Kerri L. (Michael Maynard) Needels of Bucyrus; a nephew Daniel Garvin; a niece Heidi Sumner and a great niece Isabelle.

 

He was preceded in death by his father Robert Garverick.

 

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Friday February 18, 2022 at the Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm Friday February 18, 2022 at Iberia Cemetery with Sandy Stover officiating.

 

Full Military honors will be conducted by the U. S. Army.
