Merrlin Eugene Kitzmiller, 78, of Galion passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
Merrlin was born in Galion on January 29, 1943, to the late Elwin and Buelah (Thrush) Kitzmiller. On December 5, 1964, he married Barbara (Wirick), and she survives in Galion.
Merrlin was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as trap and skeet shooting. He was a member of the Galion AMVETS Post #1979. Merrlin also enjoyed spending time with his amateur radio. Above everything, Merrlin was a family man who cherished his time spent with his loved ones.
In addition to his wife, Merrlin is survived by his children; Mitzy Carothers of Galion, Nick (Rhonda) Kitzmiller of Lake Charles, Louisiana, and Betsy (Matt) Bycroft of Lewis Center; 6 Grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Merrlin was preceded in death by his brother Larry Kitzmiller and son-in-law, Steve Carothers.
