Merl I. Robinson, 80, of rural Galion, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021, at OhioHealth Marion Hospital.
He was born on February 27, 1941, in Franklin County, Ohio, and was the son of Merle M. and Eva (Hoffman) Robinson. Merl is survived by his wife of 61 years, Pauline L. (Corwin) Robinson whom he married on May 5, 1960.
He retired after 46 years for Bucyrus Blades as a maintenance mechanic. Merl was a member of the Crawford County Antique Tractor Club and enjoyed rebuilding old tractors with his son, Jeffrey. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, son, Jeffrey (Maggie Bashoff) Robinson of Galion, daughters, Brenda (Steven) Long of Upper Sandusky and Cheryl Ann (Brian) Zeger of Galion; three grandchildren, Ashley (Matthew) Thomas of Reynoldsburg, Andrew (Kristen Poe) Robinson of Westerville and Adam Zeger of Galion; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Evans and Hayden Thomas and a brother, Edgar Robinson of Mansfield.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Caroline Wiggins, and a brother, Roy E. Robinson.
A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 28, 2021, at the Windfall Emanuel United Church of Christ, 1781 Biddle Road Galion, Ohio 44833.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Crawford County Antique Tractor Club or Windfall Emanuel United Church of Christ in care of the funeral home.
