Mary Louise Zimmerman, 87, of Galion passed away Friday, November 20, 2020 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital.

 

Born December 13, 1932 in New Winchester, Ohio, she was the daughter of Harold E. and Garnet M. (Cotsamire) Shifley.  She married William Zimmerman on April 5, 1953 and he preceded her in death on September 8, 2020.

 

She was a graduate of Whetstone High School and worked for Newberry, North Electric Company, Big N Department Store, Cainsway IGA and retired from the former Baja Boats in Bucyrus as a laminator. Mary was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Galion, Life Member of the Galion Women Bowling Association and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed camping with family, playing cards, bowling, watching baseball and football, doing word search puzzles and reading.

 

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Aaron E (Frances) Zimmerman of Bucyrus; two grandsons, Grant Zimmerman of Columbus and Jeff (Kendra) Fisher of Bucyrus; two great grandchildren, Aiden and Elliott Fisher; sister, Connie (Robert) Stickdorn; brother Frederick Shifley and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a grandson Brian Fisher and three sisters June Stoney, Janet Oehler and Natalie Stull.

 

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2020 at the Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 with Pastor Gary Schiefer officiating.
