Mary Ellen Ganshorn, 89, of Galion, died Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Magnolia Terrace, Galion, after a lengthy illness.
Mary Ellen was born in Galion, Ohio on March 2, 1929 to the late Gerald and Dorothy (Pinder) Davis. She married Charles M. “Jack” Ganshorn on September 10, 1950 and he preceded her on October 31, 2017.
Mary Ellen graduated from Galion High School in 1947 and was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church of Galion. She was a homemaker her entire life. Mary Ellen loved reading in her pastime and loved to travel. Being with all her family is what made Mary Ellen the happiest.
Survived by nephews, Steve (Linda) McElhatten, Tom (Diane) McElhatten, Dan (Sandra) McElhatten, Jerry (Jeanna) McElhatten, David (Angie) McElhatten, Jay McElhatten; nieces, Susan McElhatten, Linda (Rick) Thornton; and special friends, Bob (Carol) Hickle; as well as several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by a sister, Juanita McElhatten; niece, Patty McElhatten.
Friends may call Friday, June 20, 2018 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion, where funeral services will be held at 2:00pm at the funeral home with Pastor Richard Genzman officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Galion.
