Mary H. Brandt, 84, of Galion passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Mill Creek Nursing Center in Galion.

She was born January 15, 1936 in Galion and was the daughter of Walter G. and Henrietta (Haas) Sutter. She married Paul B. Brandt on October 27, 1956 and they were married 33 years until his passing on December 20, 1989.

Mary attended St. Joseph Catholic School in Galion. She later attended St. Francis Academy and St. Francis College both in Joliet, Illinois. Mary drove school bus for the Galion City Schools for many years. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion. Mary collected Coca-Cola Memorabilia. She was an avid Great Dane enthusiast and loved her cat, Scooter.

Mary is survived by sons John T. Brandt and George W. (Debra) Brandt all of New York; daughters Paula Brandt of Galion and Debora J. (Dan) Estes of Tennessee; nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother Matthew W. Sutter.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 135 North Liberty Street Galion, Ohio 44833 with Father Paul Fahrbach as celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Galion.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School or the Humane Society serving Crawford County in care of the funeral home.
