Marvin L. Alberty, age 72, of North Robison passed away Sunday April 7, 2024 at OSU Wexner Center Hospital.
Born December 16, 1951 in Welch, WV, he was the son of Robert and Mary (Foley) Alberty. He married Rieko Amy Oyakwa on March 31, 1973 and she survives.
Marvin was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps serving during the Vietnam War. He owned and operated Suit Ur Face Hair Place in North Robinson for over 30 years and served as the Mayor of North Robinson for more than 20 years. Prior to that time he worked at Marion Correctional and had his own private investigator license as well.
Marvin enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time at his lake house, watching his grandchildren play sports, rooting for the Buckeyes, playing his bass guitar and spending quality time with his family. He was very sociable and funny and never met a stranger.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: Louie (Allison) Alberty, Kenje (Ashley) Alberty, and Jodi (Shawn) Britt, eleven grandchildren: Olivia, Morgan, Ryder, Bella, Paislee, Lily, Kane, and Lincoln Alberty and Courtney, Brandon and Dylan Britt, two brothers Bobby and Tom (Diane) Alberty and a sister-in-law Linda Alberty.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step father Billy Chapman and two brothers Marlin Alberty and Bill Jack Chapman.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Friday April 12, 2024 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833.
