In loving memory of our mother, Martha Cox, of Bucyrus, Ohio, who peacefully passed away in her sleep of natural causes Monday 01/29/2024 at the age of 95. Her parents were Myron C and Dorothy G (Moran) Horton. She was married to Elwood Cox in 1947 and having 3 children: Bethann Marie, Bonnie Cox Coone and Cathy (Timothy) Baird. Grandchildren: Michael Coone, Michelle Coone Joyner, Jerry Cox and Ashley Baird (Nicolas) Temple. Great grandchildren: Maverick Coone, Michelle (Tempie) Trimnal.
Martha’s 3 brothers have already passed: William, Paul, James and her half-sister, Beverly Horton Quiring.
She worked at Bucyrus City Restaurant, Freddie’s, Shine’s Theater, General Electric, and Yarn Shops. She loved doing artwork, knitting, sewing, quilting, bowling and golf. She was known to get at least 6 Hole in Ones.
When her mother passed, she was sent to various relatives until she finally arrived at The Kings Daughter’s Children Home and attended Bucyrus City Schools.
She belonged to United Methodist Church, N Robinson.
She enjoyed eating at Granny’s Kitchen and LuLu’s Restaurant.
She will be deeply missed by her remaining two daughters, Bonnie and Cathy, her nieces, nephews, grandchildren, remaining family and friends.
She has donated her body to OSU for Science Research.
She will be laid to rest at a later date at Crawford County Memory Gardens.
