Marilyn Martin, 72, of Crestline, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017 at her home after a courageous battle with liver disease and cancer.

Marilyn was born in Connellsville, PA on February 27, 1945 to the late Joseph J. and Helen (Haggerty) Vilella.  She married Robert W. Martin, Jr. on June 18, 1966 and he survives her.

Marilyn was a graduate of Connellsville High School in Pennsylvania, Class of 1962.  She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Crestline.  Marilyn was employed by the Crestline and Shelby hospitals as a registration clerk.  She held the office of Treasurer for the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #859, Crestline.  Marilyn enjoyed being a member of the Red Hat Society, and going on casino trips.  She loved attending her grandkids’ sporting events.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her twin daughters; Kimberly (Ronald) Winkle, Crestline, Michelle (William) Flanagan, Ashland, her grandchildren; Ashley (Brent) Smith, Crestline, Stephanie (Christopher) Adler, Dunkirk, Brian (Whitney Booth) Barnett, Crestline, three great-grandchildren, Peyton, Mason, Aiden, three step grandchildren; Billy Flanagan, Ashland, Lindsey Mathewson, Galion, Kassandra Winkle, Crestline, sister-in-law, Sue Vilella, Cleveland, several special nieces.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Elizabeth “Bette” Garbus, and two brothers, Joseph Donald Vilella and Nicholas Vilella.

Friends may call on Thursday, November 9, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 West Main St., Crestline.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Crestline, with Rev. Christopher Bohnsack, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Crestline.
