Marie Lucille Keyes, 98, of Galion passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 at the home of her daughter.
Born June 28, 1923 in Mt. Gilead, Ohio, she was the daughter of William J. Mary E. (Smith) McManis. She married Edwin Earl Keyes on August 12, 1955 and he preceded her on January 26, 2012.
She enjoyed doing crafts throughout her life, enjoyed watching birds, wildlife and pets of all kinds, she was an avid gardener and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Sue (Mark Walters) White of Early, Texas and Barbara Jean Hoppe of Galion; daughter-in-law, Vivian Shumaker of Galion; five grandchildren, Mark Hoppe, Jonae Wilson, Allen Shumaker, Vicki Ruhl and Kelly West; 10 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren and siblings, Betty Newcomer of Mt. Gilead, Sharon Cramer of Galion and JoAnn (Clyde) Robinson of Mt. Gilead.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Robert Shumaker; brother, William McManis; sisters, Marilyn Tweedle, Margery Yarnell and infant sister, Marlene McManis.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 2, 2022 in Fairview Cemetery, 1295 Fairview Road, Galion, Ohio 44833 with Rev. Ash Welch officiating.
