Marian Elizabeth Brown, 94, of Galion, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021, at home surrounded by her family.
Born October 13, 1926, in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of Edgar Eugene and Elizabeth (Buckingham) Muchmeister. She married Wayne O. Brown and he preceded her on May 14, 2013.
Marian will be remembered as a childcare provider in her home, a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Galion, Galion Eagles where she held offices and was very active and Galion Women of the Moose. Her favorite band was the Bullitt Band from Galion and a favorite memory of hers was when she was ten years old she met the Duke and Duchess of York, King Edward the VII.
Marian is survived by sons, Dwaine (Jane) Brown of Indian Lake, Ohio and Brian Brown of Galion; daughters Sharon Lauer of Galion, Jeanette Montgomery of Marion, Phylis (Don) Monk of Galion and Elaine Barney of Galion; daughter-in-law Ann Brown of Galion; 27 grandchildren, Angela Hopkins, Amy (Sachin) Sardar, Bethany Brown, Michele (Jason) Miller, Shawn (Pam) Barney, Brandi Barney, Chris Douglas, Tracey (Scott) Schroeder, Gina (Todd) Winsor, Andy (Kim) Lauer, Mark (Shellie) Montgomery, Tony (Tina) Montgomery, Heather (Joe) Logan, Jeremy (Deanna) Brown, Jeff O’Neal, Janelle (Brent) Moore, Joe Zacharzuk, Don (Joy) Monk, Jr., Mike (Jennifer) Monk, Ron (Rachel) Monk, Ty Harding, Niki (Phil) Lilly, Tiffany (Matt) Basilone, Paula (Bob) Musgrove, Mike Wilson, Carla (Scott) Murdoch and Carl (Tabitha) Dye; many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren and her cat Houdini.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by sons, Byron Brown and Wesley Hart: daughters, Cindi Acierno and Gail Dye and a daughter-in-law, Darlene Brown.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Fairview Cemetery, 1295 Fairview Road, Galion, Ohio 44833, with Rev. T.J. McNew officiating.
