Mabel M. Grochowalski, 85, of Galion passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Mill Creek Nursing in Galion.
She was born August 22, 1936, in New Washington, Ohio, and was the daughter of Carl A. and Bernice F. (Smith) Niedermier. On January 19, 1962, she married Joseph E. Grochowalski and he preceded her in death after 51 years of marriage on March 18, 2013.
Mabel graduated from Galion High School in 1955 and worked at the former North Electric, Monroe Dry Cleaners, and Caleb V. Smith all in Galion. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Galion. Mabel was a Sunday school teacher, member of the Presbyterian Woman’s Association, circle group, and chairman of the church Deacons.
Mabel is survived by two sons, Greg Grochowalski and Troy Grochowalski both of Galion; four grandchildren, Noah and Caleb Grochowalski and Cory and Dawn Shultz, and a sister, Sandy White of Perry, Florida.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Sue Shultz.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 2 with Rev. Gary Proietti officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Galion.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church in care of the funeral home.
