Lynda K. (Kegley) Ricker, 67, of Galion passed away Friday evening, April 20, 2018 surrounded by her family at her son’s residence in Ashland.

She was born July 8, 1950 in East Chicago, Indiana and was the daughter of the late Vernon Ray Kegley and Luella Rae (Pack) Kegley-Currence. Lynda married Michael L. Ricker on August 22, 1999 and they enjoyed 16 years of marriage until his passing on July 14, 2016.

She graduated from Northmor High School in 1969. Lynda was a hard-working single mother for many years, often having two or more jobs to support her family. She worked full-time at the former Galion Dresser for over 26 years and during that time she cleaned houses. Lynda was a member of several local clubs, as well as working at the AMVETS Polk Township Post 1979, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4329 and American Legion Scarbrough Post 243 all of Galion. Lynda also attended North Central State College and received an associate degree in Human Services at age 51.

She previously attended Wesley Chapel in Galion and enjoyed playing euchre, crocheting and decorating cakes.

She is survived by sons John Kegley of Ashland and Samuel J. (Samantha) Kegley Bates of Johnsville; step-daughter Alyssa (Shelley) Hebert of Starkville, Mississippi; four grandchildren, Liam and Tegan Bates and Frost and Breeze Kegley; two step-grandchildren Holden and Graham Michael Hebert and three sisters LaVerne Bunker of Johnsville, Betty Lewis of Crestline and Sally Conley of Mansfield.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday with Steve Peters officiating. A luncheon will follow at the American Legion Scarbrough Post 243, 118 South Market St. Galion.
