Londell Lash Leapley, 87, of Crestline passed away March 7, 2021, at his daughter’s residence in Naples, Florida.

He was born September 17, 1933, in Perrysburg, Ohio, and was the son of Delbert and Mabel (Lash) Leapley. On July 1, 1967, he married Margaret Kathleen “Katie” (See) Leapley and she preceded him in death after nearly 53 years of marriage on June 25, 2020.

He was a graduate of North Robinson High School. He worked as Supervisor of Electrical Changes at North Electric, ITT North, & then Peco II. He volunteered and did BINGO for the Humane Society, belonged to the SCV (Sons of Confederate Veterans), GWRRA, Lincoln Highway Project, and he was involved in Crestline Historical Society, Galion Historical Society & was a donor to the Bucyrus Historical Society. He was very proud of the Lowe-Volk Nature Center where he volunteered and spent a lot of time there. I could go on about more, but there were so many other things that he volunteered for and donated to that I couldn’t list them all. When anyone needed something, he always raised his hand said, “Here I am. Take me.” He was a really great man.

He loved taking photos. He loved history. He really loved riding his motorcycle all around the United States. He loved traveling. He loved doing Civil War Re-enactments and belonging to the SCV (Sons of Confederate Veterans). He loved animals. He loved his family so much. He loved helping anyone in need. He was very generous with his time and money. He was an amazing father & grandfather – the best! Most of all, he loved Jesus.

Londell is survived by Debra Leapley Schneider of Naples, FL, 2 granddaughters,  Lindsay Schneider of Naples, FL, and Brandy (Roger II) Willis of Tomball, TX; three great-grandchildren Ashley, Roger III, and Christian Willis, all of Tomball, TX; one sister, Cynthia Leapley Nicely of Ann Arbor, MI, and two nieces Megan Nicely & Alexis Nicely Stiles. He was also preceded in death by his second loving mother, Vineta Hils Leapley.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 2 years, mother of Debbie, Ginger Garrison Shick, & his beloved grandparents who raised him, William Harvey & Mabel Beatrice Sherer Leapley, of North Robinson, Ohio.

Thank you so much, Bob & Denise Rosebrough, who helped him out tremendously with house cleaning, yard work, making sure Dad had something to eat, especially after Katie died. They pretty much did everything after I left to go home to Florida. And thank you so very much to Kathy Marsh, who nursed Dad at my house, spending many nights there, They had a unique connection, and she took care of him with amazing TLC.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at the Grace Brethren Church, 1055 Winchester Road Galion, Ohio 44833 with Rev. Jeff Pennington officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
