Lois J. Albert, 90 passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021, peacefully at the home of her daughter Linda and son-in-law Tim Temple of Chatfield. Lois has lived there for three and a half years and they were her caregivers. Born October 9, 1930, to the late Clifford and Doyle Gerhart on a farm near Chatfield. She married Donald Albert on November 5, 1950, and they celebrated over 65 wonderful years of marriage, he preceded her in February 2016.
Lois was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother to her family.
Lois was a wonderful baker and cook, she made many cookies, pies, rolls, raisin bread, and many delicious meals for her family. When you came to grandma’s you always went home with cookies. Donald always said she was the best cook next to his mom and that was quite a compliment. Lois loved to care for her flowers and be outside sitting on the swing enjoying the sunshine with her cat Tiger and her faithful dog Molly. Lois was a very talented crafter and spent many hours helping her daughter.
Lois was a homemaker for many years. They owned Alberts Orchard in Brokensword and worked at Dairy Crest for many years. She was a member of Scioto United Methodist Church.
Lois will be missed by many including her children Jack Albert of Bellefontaine, Linda (Tim) Temple of Chatfield and Sandra Smith of Bucyrus; grandchildren, Erin (Robert) Hill, Jack (Amanda) Albert, Ryan (Erika) Temple, Bradley (Sara) Temple, Matthew (Dianna) Temple, Terry Benson, Jeremy (Tessa) Smith; great-grandchildren, Jane Hill, JD, and Ella Albert, Sebastian, Alexander, Lydia, Kaylee, Emma, Allyson Temple, Kendra (Mitch) Benson, Camden Smith; great-great-granddaughter, Emery Rowell; sister, Dorothy (Victor) Cassaro; brother in law, Jim Etzinger; sister in law, Alice (Walter) Schimpf.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Trisha Temple, sisters Carol Gerhart, Ireta Oberlander, Miriam Etzinger, brothers Robert, Kenneth, Arthur, Sam, and William.
Her family will receive friends at Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with masks and social distancing on Wednesday, January 13 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A private funeral service will be help with Pastor David Smithey officiating. Burial will follow in Brokensword Cemetery.
