Linda Susan Beck, age 73 of Marion, passed away Friday July 28, 2023 at the Ohio State James Cancer Center.
Linda was born December 31, 1949 in Marion, the daughter of Robert E. and Alice (Wilson) Smith. She was educated in Marion and graduated from Ridgedale High School in the class of 1968.
Linda was a devoted homemaker to her family and loved to support her girls in their activities and enjoyed being a room mother at the school. As the years went on, she joined the family business working for Smith’s Cardinal Market until they closed.
On February 17, 1996 she was united in marriage to Timmy Scott Beck.
Linda was the ultimate matriarch of the family. She was their driving force and glue that connected everyone. She loved big and with a generous heart was always reaching out to others and caring for their needs before her own. She was a gifted cook and loved to entertain family and friends. Her green thumb produced beautiful flowers and an abundance of vegetables. Linda delighted in the simple pleasures of life that brought her joy and contentment; a walk on the beach looking for shells and watching the waves come in, bird watching, sitting on the back porch with Timmy listening to music and most of all she beamed with pride for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her devoted husband Timmy Beck; children: Jenny (Chris) Rogers and Pamela Hopkins; grandchildren: Konner Caudill, Branyan Caudill, Jade Slone, Clay Rogers and Casey Rogers; and her sister Phyllis (Victor) Mahaffey as well as many other friends and family.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be Saturday August 5, 2023 at Snyder Funeral Homes, Denzer Chapel 360 East Center St., Marion from 10AM to 12Noon; funeral service will follow at 12Noon with Larry Cawley officiating; burial will be in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens.
