Leonard Albert Ness age 86 of Upper Sandusky, went home to be with the Lord on Friday September 2, 2022.  He was born on August 10, 1936 in Galion  OH to Walter Albert and Verta Leone (May) Ness.  He married Marilyn (Sipes) Ness on June 27, 1959 and she preceded him in death in 2012.

Surviving are his daughters: Lynn (Jerry) Newcome of Mt. Vernon, Connie Clark of Galion, Jennifer Lugo of Galion, nine grandchildren: Nicholas (Jessica) Newcome, Andrea (Timothy) Samples, Krista Clark, Casey Clark, Daniel Clark, Shelby Clark, Joseph Lugo, Janet (Austin Heydinger) Lugo, Jacalin Lugo, six great grandchildren: Garrett, Rachel, Xander, Naomi, Alexis Mae, Karmen, brother: Melvin Ness, brother -in -law: Jim (Caroline) Sipes, nephews: Jim, Stokes, Timothy Stokes, Chris Sipes, Doug Sipes, niece: Susan Petrin.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two sisters: Gwendolyn Stokes and Pearl Jones.

Leonard graduated from Galion High School class of 1954.  He was an US Navy See Bee’s Veteran.  Leonard retired as a truck driver from GCS Airport and worked in  construction and security.  He was known for being a hard worker and providing for his family.  He selflessly worked many jobs so his wife Marilyn could stay home and raise the girls.

Leonard was a member of The First United Church of Christ in Galion and for many years attended Trinity United Church of Christ in Upper Sandusky.  He was a member of the former Upper Sandusky Gospel Association and enjoyed bringing Gospel music to his apartment complex.  He was a member of the VFW Post #2842.  Leonard was an avid Cleveland Browns fan.  He loved sharing his joy of trains with his daughters, grandchildren, family and friends.  As well as reminiscing about his military service.  Leonard was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Family will receive friends on Saturday September 10, 2022 at 10am-11am at Trinity United Church of Christ in Upper Sandusky.   A celebration of life service will be held at 11am on Saturday at the church with Pastor Brad McKibben officiating.  Burial will be held at a later date in Iberia Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Upper Sandusky Color Guard.  Memorial contributions may be made to Open Door Resource or The Fisher House Foundation in care of Bringman Clark Funeral Home 226 E.
