Lawrence “Gene” Belcher, 82 of Bucyrus passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at O.S.U. East Hospital in Columbus. Gene was born November 26, 1938, in Davy West Virginia to the late Quinton and Jewell (Thornsberry) Belcher. He was married on March 27, 1960, to Virginia (Garrett) Belcher who survives. Gene is also survived by sons Kyle (Pam) Belcher of Texas, Keith Belcher of Bucyrus, and Kenny (Shawna) Belcher of Bucyrus; 3 grandchildren Kyle David, Kevin Eugene, and Kolten Daryle; 1 great-grandchild Benjamin; brother Quinton Belcher Jr. of Bucyrus and sister Rita King of Bucyrus.
Gene retired from Swan Rubber after 43 years and worked on the Bucyrus Police Dept. Aux. for 23 years. He moved to Bucyrus in 1955 and graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1956.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Corwin officiating, burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
