Kenneth O. “Kenny” Snyder, 96, of Johnstown and former Galion resident passed away January 8, 2019 at the Licking County Memorial Hospital in Newark.

He was born January 27, 1922 in New London, Ohio and was the son of John Jerome and Beatrice (Conklin) Snyder. He married Georgia E. (Carpenter) Snyder on February 28, 1942 and she preceded him in death on January 21, 2003.

Kenny was a 1952 graduate of Crestline High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the former Peabody-Galion after 32 years, where he worked in sheet-metal for 22 years and 10 years in pump assembly.

Kenny was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the St. Vincent dePaul Society in Galion. He was a former member of the AMVETS Polk Township 1979, VFW Post 4329 and American Legion Scarbrough Post 243 all of Galion.

Kenny is survived by a daughter Alicia Marie Claus of Columbus; grandson Dustin James Allen of Johnstown and two great-grandchildren Alexander & Luke Allen.

In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a son Dennis Joseph Snyder; five sisters and three brothers.

Following his wishes, there will be no services held.
