Kenneth A. Kerr Jr., age 43, of LaRue, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, due to complications from various chronic illnesses.

Ken was born on April 17, 1978, in Marion, Ohio, to Kenneth A. Kerr Sr., who is deceased, and his mother, Sandra A. (Calmes) Kerr, who survives in Upper Sandusky.  He married Jennifer Lynn Eyer-Kerr on August 17, 2002 at the Sycamore United Methodist Church and she survives.

He is survived by children: Wyatt, Maverick, Caden, and Evelyn Kerr, all at home. A brother, Paul (Amy) Kerr of LaRue, brother-in-laws, John (Amy) Morrone of Tiffin, Justin (Jennifer) Eyer of Westerville, along with nieces and nephew, Rachel and Alex Kerr, and Tamsin Eyer.

Ken is also survived by his in-laws, Thomas and Deborah Eyer of Johnstown, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth A. Kerr, Sr., and grandparents, Paul and Doreen Calmes.

Ken was a 1996 graduate of Elgin High School and went on to graduate from the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute in 1997.  After graduation, he worked at Made from Scratch, Worthington Inn, served as a restaurant manager of Bob Evans, and then Arby’s in Bucyrus.  He currently was serving as a bookkeeper for Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church in Upper Sandusky.

He was a member of Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church, Nevada Masonic Lodge #343 F&AM, where he had served as the Senior Deacon, and the Mt. Blanchard Gun Club.

Ken served on the Board of Public Affairs and then as Mayor for the Village of Nevada.

For hobbies, he enjoyed camping, deer hunting, trap, and skeet shooting, where he qualified as a rifleman in the Project Appleseed Marksmanship Program.

He will be remembered for his loving and caring spirit for his wife, children, and others he met along the way.  He will be missed.

Funeral services for Kenneth A. Kerr Jr. will be held at 10:00 am Monday, August 23, at Trinity Evangelical U.M.C. with Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, LaRue.

Visitations will be held on Sunday, August 22, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Trinity Evangelical UMC and 1 hour before service on Monday at the church.
