Keith Kenneth Kessler, 71, of Edison and formerly of Galion passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 5, 2020.
He was born December 18, 1948 in Janesville, Wisconsin and was the son of Adolph Herman and Violet Mabel (Loveland) Kessler. On September 18, 1971 he married Norma Jean (Baxter) Kessler and she preceded him in death after 40 years of marriage on February 1, 2012.
Keith proudly served his country in the United States Army for 14 years and last worked at Anthony Lee in Crestline. Known by most as “Pops” or “grandpa,” Keith was rarely serious and always joking, laughing or getting into mischief. He often referred to himself and convinced most of his grandkids that he was: handsome, suave and debonair. Keith fiercely loved his family and had an undying love for his wife Norma. He never met an enemy or turned away anyone in need. Keith was known as the “Chaos Coordinator” because he loved having a houseful of people and children. This chaos was when he was the most happy and now he is at peace and pain free with the love of his life.
Keith is survived by daughters Dawn Beck of Edison and Brandy (Richard) Reece of Galion; seven grandchildren David Atwell, Kermit Day, Tia (Kyle Hinkle) Keen, Trevor Reece, Cameron (Leanna Gifford) Reece, Courtney Reece, Rheonna McQuiston, Justice Keith McQuiston and Erin McQuiston; ten great-grandchildren Aveha & James Keen, Ryan Moore & Zoey Horsley, Tieson, Kiaran, Emyia, Izahia, Mylasia Day and Bently Reece; brothers Richard and Arnold (Coralee) Kessler all of Wisconsin; sisters Virginia Carey of Colorado and Roxyann (Richard) Stephans of Texas; sister-in-law Betty Kessler of Wisconsin; brother-in-laws Eli Stokes of Wisconsin and Robert (Barbara) Baxter of Galion and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by brothers Donald Kessler and Albert (Valerie) Kessler; sisters Beverly (David) Tracey and Christine Stokes, brother-in-law Stanley Carey and sister-in-law Marie Kessler.
A private burial will be held for the family in Fairview Cemetery, Galion and military honors will be provided by the United States Army.
