Kathleen Rebeca Prince, 54, of Bucyrus, died on April 11, 2021, at home surrounded by family after years fighting cancer.
Kathleen was born December 18, 1966 to Edgardo and Celida (Vizcarra) Valdivia in Arequipa, Peru. She graduated from Santa Rosa De Lima High School. She met the love of her life, Jeffery Prince, in Virginia and they got married on March 31, 1991. They then moved from Virginia to Bucyrus in 1992 where they would start their family. Kathleen decided to go back to school and graduated from Marion Tech in 2004 with an Associates’ degree. She also worked for Artic Cat in Bucyrus and was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Kathleen was a family-oriented person. Whether she was enjoying family meals or catching up with her siblings on the phone, she made sure to always spend time with family. She treasured her family and friends and cared for them deeply. Her sons were her pride and joy. Kathleen was also a strong-minded individual and always accomplished tasks properly and completely. She was an artistic person who enjoyed crafts, painting and was a talented seamstress. Kathleen loved learning languages and knew English, Spanish, Dutch, Arabic, German, as well as many others. Even with all these talents, Kathleen was a humble person. She enjoyed dancing along to 80’s music and shopping.
Kathleen is survived by her loving husband, Jeffery, of 30 years; sons Mark and Sebastien Prince; siblings Susana Valdivia, Reynaldo Valdivia, Martha (Amr) Lofty, Norma (Severo Florez) Valdivia, Julia (Leonardo Farfan) Valdivia, Lucia (Ulises) Martinez, Ursula (Octavio) Chavez, Lucero (Boris Chacon) Valdivia, and Edgardo (Dorina Sanchez) Valdivia; mother-in-law Mary Prince; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law Albert Prince and nephew Roald Valdivia.
Her family will receive friends from 4- 7 pm Tuesday, April 13 at Wise Funeral Service with a Rosary Service to follow. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, April 14 at 1 pm at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Paul Fahrbach officiating.
