Karen Sue (Schenk) Butler, age 59, of Flemingsburg KY passed away peacefully at 12:41pm Saturday, June 20, 2020 of cancer. She was at home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Upper Sandusky, Ohio  on July 19th, 1960 to the late Harold Schenk, and Christine Schenk who survives in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. Karen was formerly of Nevada, and Bucyrus, Ohio, but most recently of Flemingsburg, KY.

Karen enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, going to yard sales and auctions, going to bike meets, collecting brass and oriental items, going to car races, listening to bluegrass and rock and roll music, and spending time with her family and friends, and fur babies. She held several jobs in the past, but most recently worked at Fleming county schools. She was of Pentecostal faith, and attended Oceola Pentecostal Tabernacle church in Oceola, Ohio.

She was proceeded in death by a son Jayson Butler, her father Harold Schenk, and her in laws Noah and Betty Butler. Karen is survived by her husband of 41 years, Gene Butler. Her daughter Jessica and her husband John Vanichek of Upper Sandusky, Ohio. Her son Jeremy and his wife Marsha Butler of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. Grandchildren- Kimberly (Trey) and Danielle (Scotty). Great grandchildren- Bentley, Braylon, Colton, and Paislee. Her mother, Christine survives in Ohio, along with a brother and a sister. A brother in law, Jeff survives in KY. She is also survived by special friends Rusty and Regina, Mandy and Jason and their kids Cassidy and Erika, and close friend Tammy, and her daughter Skyler. She leaves behind many niece’s, nephew’s, friends, family and fur babies who will miss her very much!

Calling hours will be held from 10am-11am, and the funeral will follow at 11am with pastor Tony Corns officiating. Services will be held at Tollsboro Funeral home at– 11918  KY 57 — Tollsboro, KY 41189
