June “Junetta” (Spires) Goff, 81, of Galion passed away on July 2, 2022 at her home from an extended illness.

She was born August 13, 1940 in Lawrence County, Indiana to Ervin and Eva L. (Livingston) Spires. June married Kenneth B. Goff on October 8, 1960 in Galion. He was her soul mate, companion, best friend and they spent 54 years together until his passing in 2014.

She graduated from Oolitic High School in Bedford, Indiana before coming to Ohio. After her marriage to Kenneth, they lived on the family farm in Morrow County for over thirty years. In their retirement, they lived in Crawford County and wintered in Ft. Meyers, Florida. Shortly after Ken’s passing she moved to Galion.

In her teen years, she worked as a car hop in Bedford, Indiana. After her marriage, she enjoyed working on the farm which included working in the flower garden, vegetable garden and mowing.  June also enjoyed playing cards with friends, camping, fishing, attending flea markets and garage sales and loved the time she could spend with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She volunteered at the Galion Hospital, giving refreshment to patients and guests and was a past member of the Eagles Club 603 of Galion.

June is survived by her daughter, Teresa Kay (Goff) Winslow and husband Elwin J. Winslow of Galion; three grandchildren, LeeAnn Thompson, Cody Winslow both of Galion and Brandon Winslow of Illinois; four great-grandchildren, Logan, Jayathan and Jazmynn all of Galion, Anna Winslow of Illinois and one expected. She is also survived by her sister, Jewel Goldsberry; her brother, Richard “Rick” Spires and his wife Erin of Indiana and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Larson and Mary Ann Graham and three brothers, Robert “Runt” Spires, Donald Spires and Gaylord Spires.

Following her wishes, there will be no formal service.
