Judith L. Eckstein, 68, of Galion, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, after a short illness.
Judy was born in Cardington, on March 17, 1949 to the late Mintie (Poole) Pollard. She married Steve Eckstein on August, 30, 1985 and he survives her.
Judy was only thirteen years old when her mother passed away, and she was raised by her sister Katherine. Judy was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Galion, and had attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cardington. Along with her husband Steve, Judy owned and operated Just Plastics in Galion. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 4329, Galion. Judy loved being a wife and mother and loved preparing special meals for her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three sons; David Whitt, Galion, Dan and Maggie Whitt, Galion, Shawn & Jennifer Whitt, Galion, her two daughters, Theresa and Jan Waterer, Galion, Tina and Keith Paylor, Crestview, FL, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, her brothers, Dan and Charlene Pollard, Crosby, TX, Jack and Susan Pollard, Mt. Gilead.
She was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters.
Friends may call Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, Galion, with Pastor Richard Genzman officiating. Burial will follow in Rivercliff Cemetery, Mt. Gilead.
