Joseph L. “Joe” Haynes, 82 of Galion passed away Thursday, June 25, 2020.
He was born August 31, 1937 in Grantville, Kansas and was the son of Paul and Flossie (Welch) Haynes. Joe is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Linda (Gregory) Haynes.
Joe graduated from Tiro High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for 43 years at Ohio Steel Tube in Shelby, retiring in 2000. Joe enjoyed fishing, especially at Clark Fork Lake.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Paul Haynes of Prospect; Angela Haynes Pitts of Mansfield and Brian (Cathy) Haynes of Mansfield; 11 grandchildren and a sister Gertrude Haynes of Kansas.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Joseph Haynes and two brothers, Jerry and Cletus Haynes.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2020 Trinity Gospel Tabernacle, 326 First Avenue Galion, Ohio 44833 with Pastor Rick Cox officiating.
Full military honors will be conducted by the United States Navy and the Galion Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail.
