John R. Jeffrey, 72, of Crestline, died suddenly on September 19, 2018 at Galion Community Hospital, Galion.
John was born in Crestline on February 11, 1946 to the late Paul W. and Ruth H. (Minich) Jeffrey. He married Shirley A. (Walters) Jeffrey on May 4, 1968 who survives him.
John was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church (formerly English Lutheran Church) in Crestline. He was employed and retired from Diversified Assemblies in Shelby. He was a member of the VFW Post 2920, Crestline. John enjoyed fishing, old cars, building model cars, racing, lawn tractors and his dogs. John had a gift of gab and never met a stranger.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Mike and Ruth Jeffrey, Galion, John and Kara Jeffrey, Carleton, MI, Rick and Denise Jeffrey, Crestline, Bryan and Lori Jeffrey, Mansfield, his grandchildren; Krystal and Brian Lee, Nicholas, Michaela and Isabella Jeffrey, Jessica, Cory and Valerie Jeffrey, Caleb Sand, his step-grandchildren, Gary Lee, Steven Patton, and Kim Patton, his great-grandchildren; Alivia Lee and Michael Jeffrey, his brothers, Donnie, Paul, Bob, Rick and Jimmy Jeffrey, his sister, Sharon Wozniak and numerous nieces and nephews including Missy and Jerry Clark, Kressie Jeffrey and Alex Minor.
Friends may call from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 223 West Main St., Crestline. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Diana Seaman officiating.
