Joanne Elaine Baumgartner held many titles in her life. Devoted wife, loving and involved mother, thoughtful daughter, caring sister and aunt, adoring grandmother to three grandsons and seven great grandchildren. After battling dementia for several years, Joanne left her earthly body to be united with her heavenly Father on the morning of September 1, 2024.
She was born January 24, 1934, in Sulphur Springs, Ohio to John and Dorothy Hieber, where she spent her childhood and teenage years. This is where she met the love of her life, Jim. They were married in 1955. Joanne went to beauty school in Mansfield. She worked as a beautician until 2018. She was very creative and enjoyed china painting, sewing, and many crafts. She was an active church member and active in many Crestline organizations. They had one daughter, Lori. She was a dedicated and proud supporter of Lori’s and her grandsons’ achievements. Joanne attended all her grandson’s sporting events. Those who knew Joanne would best describe her as a talkative, hardworking, thoughtful friend and loving person who always gave the best to those she loved. Her family remembers her best for the various ways in which she instilled all these values in them throughout her life.
