Jerry Voss, 62, of Galion passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022, while on a fishing trip in Canada.
Born June 15, 1960 in Galion, he was the son of Henry and Marcella (Cutshall) Voss. He married Lucinda “Cindy” (Kent) Voss on December 13, 1980 and she survives.
He was a graduate of Galion High School in 1979 and retired after 35 years as a store manager for Speedway. He currently was employed at the Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes in Galion and was a member of GracePoint Church in Galion. He enjoyed fishing, college football, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes, working around the house doing odd jobs and especially spending time with the family and grandchildren at their pool.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Lindy (Dustin) Edgell; son, Casey (Maggie) Voss of Cedar City, Utah; two granddaughters, Lucy and Milly Edgell, who affectionately knew him as “Poppy”; six siblings, Jane (Milt) Fletcher of Campobella, SC, Betty Vollrath of Grove City, Margie Golden of Orem, Utah, Maxine Reed of Galion, Marcie Armstrong of Zanesville, Robert (Irene) Voss of Dublin; brothers-in-law, Rick (Roberta) Kent of Galion, Bob (Sandy) Kent of Philo, Rusty Kent of Galion and sister-in-law, Jenny (Dirk) Eachus of Galion along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce McGonigal and Doris Vance and his parents-in-law, Richard and Nancy Kent.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2022 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833. Additional calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Grace Point Church, 683 Portland Way South, Galion, Ohio 44833 where a memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Paul Walter officiating.
