Jerry E. “Fuzzy” Furr, 75, of Galion passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023 in the Emergency Room at Avita Galion Hospital.

He was born January 30, 1948 in Parkersburg, West Virginia and was the son of Okey and Cathryn (Kesterson) Furr. Jerry is survived by his wife of 12 years, Joyce (Bishoff) Furr whom he married on May 25, 2010.

Jerry worked as a welder/supervisor and Quality Assurance Manager for the Flexible Corporation and Marion Power Shovel Company. He was patriotic and was proud of his Navy accomplishments and the time that he served his country in the United States Navy. He was also a Navy War Planes enthusiast and member of the American Legion Post 257 in Loudonville, Ohio. Jerry enjoyed researching family history, woodworking, enjoyed music, spending time with his family and dogs, Bailey and Mitzie.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Laura (Ken) Scallon of Lexington; granddaughter, Amanda (Will) Neill of Winchendon, Massachusetts; two great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Danielse n and William Edward Porch Neill and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael and Kenneth Furr and a sister, Connie Shade.

The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2023 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 17th with Rev. Joe Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Galion.

Military honors will be conducted by our local Galion/Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail and the United States Navy.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in care of the funeral home.
