Janis Marie Jacobs, 104, of Crestline passed peacefully in the early morning of Friday, August 2, 2024, at Magnolia Terrace.
Janis was born in Bucyrus on March 19, 1920, to the late Calvin and Mary (Hill) Iiams. On October 11, 1940, Janis would join hands in marriage with Charles Jacobs, and he preceded her in death on September 5, 1995.
A Crestline High School Graduate of 1938, later Janis would dedicate her working years to North Electric. Janis was a lifetime member of the Crestline VFW Post 2920 Auxiliary and the Crestline Eagles Aerie #859, where she would gather with her friends and share good times.
In her spare time, Janis was known to be a masterful seamstress, always sewing, or working on her latest knitting or crocheting project. If you knew Janis, you knew it was a rare sight to see her inside while the weather was nice. Janis loved to be outdoors, tending to her garden, or completing her yard work. Yardwork in which Janis would still be completing until the young age of 95, when you could find her mowing her yard. Janis always looked forward to her road trips with her dear sister Marge, road trips that were circled on her calendar months in advance.
Left to cherish Janis’s memories are her children: Cindy (Ray) Tome of Crestline, and Gary (Vivian) Jacobs of Westerville; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Janis was preceded in death by her sons: Larry and Randy Jacobs, five brothers, and two sisters.
Friends may call on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, at Mark A. Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home; 223 W. Main St. Crestline.
