Janice “Jan” Cox was called to her heavenly home on January 4, 2021 at Altercare in the company of her devoted husband.  Jan was born on September 7, 1952 in Orlando Florida to Carl and Marilyn Farrow.  Janice was married to the love of her life, Garry Cox, on September 25, 1999

Jan was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Farrow, nephew, Craig Taylor, mother-in-law Edie Cox and brother-in-law Timothy Staiger.

She is survived by her parents Carl and Marilyn Farrow, her beloved husband, Gary Cox, her Step-Son Brian (Jenn) Cox and grandson Brody Cox.

She is also survived by her loving siblings David (Jody) Farrow, Pam Moyer and Sandy Staiger.  Nieces: Shannie (Scott) Palmer, Katie Wolfgang, Ashley (Nicholis) Pirnstill and Maranda Farrow.  Nephews: Timothy Moyer and Ryan Phillips; and former brother-in-law Tim Moyer.

Jan had a very special place in her heart for her great nephew, Ethan Pirnstill.  As a token for her love for him she wrote him a wonderful children’s book and made him the main character.  Jan was especially fond of Ethan and referred to him as her “baby that she never had” and was very close to his mother, Ashley, whom she called “Hashey”.

Growing up Jan was very active in the community, performing in school plays, participating in pageants and running around with her friends.  Jan also enjoyed spending time with her late Grandma Aurand.  After graduating Crestline High School in 1970, Jan attended college and received a degree in Nursing.

Jan was always smiling and had a charitable heart of gold.  She loved spending time with her husband at home and could often be found in her back yard tending to her garden friends, specifically to the squirrels that returned day after day to visit her.  If Janice was not at home she was with Pam, Sandy, Ashley and Ethan.  She also spent her free time visiting with her parents.

Jan served her community as a Registered Nurse for 30 years and finally retired at age 63 to take care of her mother-in-law at home.

The most important thing in Jan’s life was her relationship with the Lord and she found comfort, purpose and peace in her faith.  Jan was very loved and will be dearly missed by her husband, family and friends.

A private Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 6th for family and close friends.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to help cover medical and funeral expenses.  Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.munzpirnstill.com
