James A. Hall, age 79, of Fredericktown passed away Friday March 11, 2022 at his residence.
Born January 27, 1943 in Mason, WV he was the son of the late Albert and Clara (Roush) Hall. He married Sue Ann Marks on November 6, 1966 and she preceded him on January 30, 2003.
Jim was a graduate of Wahama High School in Mason, WV and then received his Bachelor’s degree from Ashland University in Business Administration. Jim was a veteran of the U. S. Army where he served as a machinist and was an expert marksman. He was a Plant Manager for the former Komatsu Dresser, Galion where he worked for 28 years. Jim also owned several successful businesses and worked as a consultant to troubleshoot for other companies.
Jim was a member of the American Legion Scarbrough Post #243, Galion. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons, golfing, dancing and studying his genealogy. He was the family patriarch of which he was very dedicated and used his spare time to coach and serve as a mentor to many. Above all, Jim loved his family and particularly his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his two sons: John (Sandy) Hall of Mount Vernon, IL; and Eric (Dana) Hall of Fredericktown, his daughter Laura Hall of Houston, TX, 12 grandchildren: Chuck, Don Philip, Alex, Matthew, Jada, Issabella, Kristina, Rosalinda, Kolton, Alexis, Tonya and Tabitha, 15 great grandchildren, 4 Great-great grandchildren, and four sisters: Hilda Collins; Barbara (Clint) Howe; Sandra (Bruce) Nichols; Ilinia (Terry) Holub, his daughter-in-law Judy Clevenger, a sister-in-law Kay Hall and a brother-in-law Lyndsey Holub.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons: Brian and Barry Clevenger, a daughter Jenetta Barnhart, a grandson Chuck Clevenger, a brother Robert Hall and four sisters: Erma Michael, Virginia VanMeter; Clara Robie, and Linda Holub .
Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthur G. James Cancer Research Hospital in care of the funeral home.
