Jack A. Campbell, 78, of Galion, passed away late November 25th while surrounded by his family.
Jack was born on January 22, 1939 to the late Ilo and Gladys (Orr) Campbell and from then on lived a full and happy life. Jack married the love of his life, Hazel Stepp, on June 6, 1959 and she preceded him on July 1, 2000.
Throughout his life Jack enjoyed always being on the move. He could always be found driving around town checking on all his family and friends. Jack loved to ride around in his many vehicles, especially on his Honda motorcycle. In his younger years Jack enjoyed an active lifestyle outdoors, often camping, boating, and fishing with his family. His favorite place to go boating was Tavares, Florida where he enjoyed watching the alligators. Jack retired from Crawford Construction Company of Galion in 1999 after many years working as a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Ohio Operating Engineers. Jack was also a member of many organizations around Galion such as the Galion Moose Lodge 303 and Amvets Post 1979.
Jack is survived by his three children Jackie Biederman, Joe (Linda) Campbell, and Jan (Lloyd) Bilsing, all of Galion. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, Casey (Jarrod) Roelle, Jacob Biederman, Tonya Biederman, Nick Campbell, Sarah Campbell and Kaitlyn Bilsing and three great-grandchildren, Luke Biederman, Neko Biederman and Leon Staley. Jack will be dearly missed by all, friends and family alike.
In addition to his parents and wife he is also preceded by two brothers, Charles and Bill Campbell and three sisters, Ruth Foght, Kate Goeller and Betty Haala.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Mike Corwin officiating. Burial will follow at Brokensword Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Magnolia Terrace Activity Fund in care of the funeral home.
