Ida Amanda Spain, age 79, of Bellville passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024 in her home following a long battle with Alzheimers with her loving husband of 35 years by her side.
She was born September 6, 1944 in Galion to the late Larwell and Irma (Coulter) Kent.
Ida worked for the Galion Police Department as a dispatcher for 30 years. She moved with her husband Ed to Bellville in 2004 after retirement.
Ida spent her retirement time bird watching and spending time with her family. She was a 1962 graduate of Colonel Crawford High School.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Edward Spain, daughter Sonja Mendes, granddaughter Morgan Todd and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Pat Mullens, Mercedes Moore, Barbra Kent and Carole Hauptmen as well as her brother Howard Kent.
Friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Friday January 5, 2024 at the Snyder Funeral Home Lexington Avenue where a memorial service will follow at 7:00 PM with Chaplain Mark Brodbeck officiating at Lexington Avenue Chapel, 2553 Lexington Avenue, Mansfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association.
