Gloria “Jean” Conant, 70, of Galion, died Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Ohio State University Hospital, Columbus after a short illness.
Jean was born in Galion, Ohio on October 4, 1947 to the late Harry and Grace (Marshman) Ruth. She married Milton L. “Butch” Conant on July 10, 1981 and he preceded her April 22, 2017.
Jean was a very hard worker. In 1994, Jean started working at the Galion Country Club as a Cook, where she worked for many years. In Jean’s spare time, she loved to do crossword puzzles. Jean was a Huge Baseball Fan and enjoyed watching her favorite team “The Cleveland Indians” every chance she could get. Jean’s most precious joys were her friends and family and she loved being with all of them as much as possible. Jean was a very giving person who was full of energy and also had a great sense of humor. Jean’s daughters looked up to her with great respect and she was their hero. Jean was an all-time dedicated mother.
She is survived by her children, Audra and Matt Sigafoos of Galion, Ronda and Jesse Henson of Galion, Heather Blankenship and fiancé Jermiah Primett of Galion; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Ted Ruth of Heber Springs, Arkansas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a two brothers, Paul Ruth and Larry Kitchen.
Friends may call Monday, June 25, 2018 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home, Galion with Pastor Walt Keib officiating. Burial will follow in Campbell Cemetery.
