Gerald “Jerry” Alan Frietchen, 74, of Crestline, Ohio passed peacefully into God’s Kingdom on June 24, 2021. He was born in Crestline on June 26, 1946, to the late Charles and Martha (Pry) Frietchen.
Jerry was a graduate of Ontario High School and attended The Ohio State University. He worked his whole career in the area of Tool & Die, mostly at DSL Corporation in Mansfield, and mentored many men.
On May 4, 1974, Jerry married R. Georgann Stone, and she survives.
As a young man, Jerry enjoyed white water rafting, especially his two-week trip down the Colorado River. He also enjoyed his missionary trip to Africa and often told stories about his adventures. After marriage, camping was his main adventure.
Jerry was a deacon in the Baptist Church for years and worked in the area of Junior Church. He also officiated Summer Swim Team while his kids were growing up.
In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by his brother, Dennis Frietchen; half-sisters, Florence Frietchen and Joann Majors; son, Kurt (Amber) Frietchen, and daughter, Tori (Joel) Jernigan; and grandchildren, Rylee, Lauren, Anthony, Braden, Olivia, and Lilly.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Frietchen; brother, Robert Frietchen; mother and father-in-law: George and Lucy Stone; brothers-in-law, Ken and Frank Stone.
Friends may call on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Mark A. Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home; 223 W. Main St. Crestline. The funeral service will be immediately following, with burial taking place at Greenlawn Cemetery.
