Everett L. Bash, 97, of rural Galion passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Mill Creek Nursing Center surrounded by family.
Born June 10, 1921 in Wyandot County, he was the son of Arlo E. and Imo (Dome) Bash. He married Helen A. Snyder on December 6, 1943 and she preceded him on June 10, 2005.
Everett was a United States Marine veteran serving in World War II, worked as a farmer all of his life and was an avid John Deere fan. He was a member St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion and a member of the former Harding Memorial Library Association. He formerly owned and operated the Bash Egg Factory in rural Galion which consisted of over 10,000 chickens. Everett always commented, “I am so lucky to have 12 kids” and enjoyed spending time with them.
He is survived by twelve children, Tom (Pat) Bash, Mary (Dick) Simmons, Sharon (Frank) Grauer, Linda (Fred) Ramsey, Denny (Trudy Kuhl) Bash, Ron (Sheryl) Bash, all of Rural Galion. Kathy (Ferrell) Vanwy of Newark, Patty (Brian) Wittibschlager, Mike (Vicki) Bash, Phil (Robin) Bash, all of rural Galion and Joe Bash of Mt. Gilead and Tim Bash of Galion; 29 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; brother, Kenneth (Minnie) Bash of Forest; sisters-in-law, Viola Blackburn and Posie Snyder both of Upper Sandusky.
In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard, Clarence and Nelson Bash and a daughter-in-law, Denise Bash.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 135 N. Liberty Street, Galion, Ohio 44833 with Fr. Paul Fahrbach officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Full military honors will be conducted by the United States Marines and the Galion Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail.
