Evelyn E. “Teenie” DeWitt, age 75, passed away on Thursday, June 29th, 2023, at Millcreek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Galion, Ohio. She was born July 31, 1947, in Galion, Ohio to Amos DeWitt and Evelyn Hickman-DeWitt. She married Weldon (Jack) Harford in 1965 and was a devoted mother to their two sons, who have fond memories of many fun times. Teenie always maintained a very close relationship with her sons and was always there for them no matter how mischievous they behaved.

Evelyn was of an exacting disposition when it came to her career as a property manager. She managed very large residential properties in and around the Columbus, Ohio area. Oftentimes, Evelyn would take on a distressed property with many problems and whip it into shape with her strict standards of cleanliness and excellence. She also had an eye for antiques and displayed a beautiful collection built up over the years with her flair for interior decorating. She loved jazz music, art, and was appreciated for her fine homemade meals and homemade bread. Evelyn was also deeply spiritual and sought to discover the deep philosophical questions set before all human beings in their lifetimes. Teenie had a motivated, loving and energetic personality. She had a special sense of humor, the best laugh, and spent countless times joking and laughing with family and friends. She was a good sport and laughed along with many pranks ginned up by her adventurous sons.

Evelyn was preceded in passing by mother, Evelyn (Hickman) DeWitt; father Amos DeWitt, sister, Clara (DeWitt) Kreig, and beloved brother in law John Armstrong. She is survived by her siblings and their spouses, Robert Kenny and Georgia DeWitt, Dolores and Bob Surtman, Shelley Armstrong, and David and Bonnie DeWitt, children Jeff and Geraldine Harford, Joel and Jennie Harford, and grandchildren Joshua Blackburn & family, Josiah and Brianna Sargent-Harford, and Jessica Harford, and great-grandchildren, Jaden, Evelyn, and Elijah Blackburn along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

An informal memorial celebration will be held Sunday, July 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kiwanis Park Pavilion, located behind the Galion Community Center-YMCA, 500 Gill Avenue, Galion, Ohio 44833 for relatives and dear friends.
