Eula Schubert, age 89, went home to be with the Lord on December 30, 2020. Eula was born to the late Berry Albert and Mary Ethel (Potter) Creason on October 31, 1931, in Crossville, TN. Eula married Johnny Schubert on March 24, 1951, and he survives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by great-granddaughter Lily Grace, brothers Everett and Harold Creason, and sister Jean Largent. 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by children J. Bernice (Preston) Walters, Sandra (Robert “Bobby”) Walters both of Galion, Wanda (Paul) Spencer of Bellville, and Johnny (Roze) Schubert II of Crestline; Grandchildren, Johnny Schubert III, Marlene (Scott) Sanders, Nancy (Rod) Brace, Steve (Kate) Walters, Robert (Cassie) Walters, Karen (Brian) Ervin, Stephen (Savannah) Walters, Alexis Walters, Marcus Walters, Kevin (Abbie) Spencer, Brian (Laurie) Spencer; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Aidan, Adalyn, Elliot, Emersyn, Ty, Addison, Kailee Rae, Laurel, Hunter, Aaron, Natalie, Nora, Isaac, Leah, Daniel, and Jackson; sisters Helen Beaty of Galion and Ruby Rooker of Nashville, TN; and brother Norman Creason of Sparta, TN. 

Eula moved from Tennessee to Galion in October of 1961.  She was a full-time homemaker, who was always busy.  Eula was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  She was a valued babysitter for mothers that had to work.  Eula was an excellent cook and baker hosting family and friends very frequently.  She enjoyed gardening in the summer, freezing and canning her produce for her family.  After her family was raised, she sold produce on a stand at her home.  Some years Eula raised and sold wagon loads of gourds and pumpkins.  During the winter months, she enjoyed trying new recipes, quilting, and reading. 

Eula was a devoted Christian, actively serving as a deacon’s wife and for a short time as a teacher for the beginner’s class at Freewill Baptist Church. 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 2, 2021, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm at the Bucyrus Freewill Baptist Church. There will be a service following visitation at 2:00 PM with Pastor Lyle Arnett officiating.  Burial will follow in the Iberia Cemetery.
