Emma Eliza Wilson, 97, formerly of Galion went to her heavenly home from Fletcher, Ohio on Friday, August 27, 2021. She was born on August 10, 1924, in Morrow County to the late Clarence and Dessie (Garverick) Tuttle.
On December 11, 1943, Emma married Robert E. Wilson, and he preceded her in death on August 13, 1987.
Emma was a 1942 graduate of Iberia High School. She was a longtime member of Sixteen United Methodist Church of Caledonia and was most recently a member of Iberia United Methodist Church. Emma served several years as a 4-H adviser and held many different offices at church, including teaching Sunday School for many years. She had a passion for cake decorating, always having something up her sleeve for special occasions, birthdays, and graduations. Emma enjoyed her times spent on the Red Bird Mission Trip and attending the annual Lakeside Conference. Of her many talents, Emma loved sewing and gardening, canning, making homemade noodles, and homemade Easter candies.
Left to cherish her memories are Emma’s two daughters; Karolyn (Duane C.) Plumley of Marion, and Ruth Ann (Butch) Emswiler of Fletcher; two grandchildren; Rachel (Tyson) Tingley and Nick Browning; and two great-grandchildren; Olivia and Avery Browning; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Emma was preceded in death by her three sisters and their husbands; Florence (Rev. John) Gregg, Dorothy (Raymond) Mayer, and Alice (Pete) Broiler.
Friends may call on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, from 4:00-7:00 pm at Mark A. Schneider-Gompf Funeral Home; 303 Portland Way North, Galion. The funeral service will be Thursday, September 2, 2021, at 11:00 am at Iberia United Methodist Church; 3664 State Route 309, Galion, with Pastor Ron Dickson assisted by Pastor Pat Fruth will be Officiating. Burial will follow at Iberia Cemetery.
The family asks that masks and social distancing be followed.
