Dorothy G. Smith, 96, of Galion passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Tiffin Mercy Hospital.

She was born May 13, 1924 in Drill, Virginia and was the daughter of Frank and Carrie E. (McGlothin) Reedy.  Dorothy married Dallas D. Smith on January 25, 1943 and they enjoyed 59 years of marriage until his passing on June 1, 2002.

She is survived by daughter Judith D. McClarren of Galion; sons Jack M. (Nancy) Smith of Crestline and J. David (Hope) Smith of Galion; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy resided at Mill Creek Nursing Center for the past seven years and attended service every Sunday there. She was a 50 year member of the Eastern Star in Bucyrus and enjoyed shopping, sewing, quilting, planting vegetables and flowers, especially violets.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Reedy, Ralph Reedy and Frank, Reedy, Jr. and five sisters, Maretta Davis, Fern Honaker, Irene Wilson, Lorene Brown and Margie Sawyer.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 18, 2020 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 18th with Rev. Diana Seaman officiating. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery.
