Dorothy L. Houk, 81, of Galion, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024 at Signature HealthCARE of Galion.
Born July 12, 1942 in Galion, she was the daughter of Donald and Lucile (McKinney) Wood. She married Lynn Houk on April 5, 1969 and he preceded her in 1979.
She was a graduate of North Robison High School and worked at Zips in Galion, drove bus for Head Start, was a teacher’s aide and worked for Goodwill in Mansfield and Galion. She enjoyed being outdoors and especially loved her grandkids and great grandkids.
She is survived by children, Adam Houk, Anita Houk, Jeff Houk, all of Galion, and Chris Houk of Marion;
grandchildren, Jamie, Zach, Cody and Devin Houk, Alexandria (Mike) Drew, Mark, Dylan, Samantha and Hayden Houk; 16 great grandchildren; sisters, Diane Worley of Crestline and Deb (Bill) Foust of Galion and brothers, Dave (Marilyn) Wood of Galion and Tim Wood of Crestline.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by brothers, Dallas, Larry and Rob Wood and daughter Mary Ann Wood.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 12, 2024 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 12 with Rev. Joe Stafford officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Galion.
