Dorothy L. Heiser, 91, of Galion passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born October 20, 1930 in Shelby, Ohio and was the daughter of Louis F. and Marie A. (Miller) Gosser. Dorothy married Kenneth L. Heiser on November 17, 1951 and he preceded her in death after 60 years on January 17, 2012.

Dorothy graduated from Crestline High School in 1948. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion, Shelby Cloverleaf Club and the Square Dance Club. Dorothy volunteered with several community organizations including the American Legion and St. Joseph Catholic Church. She could usually be seen taking care of her flowers and garden.

Dorothy is survived by five sons, Michael (Mitzi) Heiser of Galion, John (Debra) Heiser of Mansfield, Tom (Sue) Heiser of Taos, New Mexico, Doug (Carol) Heiser of Rapid City, South Dakota and Dan Heiser of Kansas City, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, Melissa (Karl) Rhode, Lisa Heiser, Danielle (Timothy) Joyce, Janiene Heiser, Eric Heiser, Megan (Ely Abrums) Heiser, Scott (Laramie) Heiser, Kelly (Josh) Thayer, Brandon (Andrea) Heiser and Nick (Becky) Heiser; 18 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Paul (Brenda) Gosser of Crestline, Leo (Marie) Gosser of Florida and David Gosser of Arkansas and a sister, Ruth Hirt of Dayton, Ohio.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Heiser; a brother, Carl Gosser and two sisters, Joan Hickey and Florine Farren.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 135 North Liberty St. Galion, Ohio with Father Paul Fahrbach as celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Galion.
