Dorothy V. Dixon, 96, of Galion passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 at home.
Born February 6, 1922 in Galion, she was the daughter of Lloyd and Fannie (Amick) Deisch. She married Jack W. Dixon on June 1, 1940 and he preceded her on April 21, 1991.
She was a graduate of Galion High School in 1940. Dorothy was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Galion and worked as a seamstress at the former Stratbury Coat factory in Galion. She belonged to The Woman of The Moose Chapter 177, enjoyed collecting antiques and loved her cat “Chloe”.
She is survived by grandson Scott (Patti) Dixon of Galion; granddaughter Stacy (Jeff) Lybarger; great grandchildren Adrienne Dixon, Kara Dixon, Amber Kegley and Abigail Lybarger; three great great grandchildren and sister Verna Mae Blackford Matthews of Galion.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by son Jack L. Dixon; sisters Marietta Hensley, Mildred Jerger, Elizabeth Plew, Lenore Linder, Mary Drake and Alta Nelson and brothers James Deisch, Paul Deisch and Kenneth Deisch.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Richard Genzman officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Galion.
