Doris M. Nutt, 86, of Galion, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Magnolia Terrace in Galion. She had been in declining health in recent months.
She was born May 28, 1935, in Brighton, Colorado, and was the daughter of Vester James and Viola Willamina (Meyers) Crabtree. Doris married Roland J. “Ron” Nutt on September 12, 1953, and he preceded her in death after nearly 53 years of marriage on July 31, 2006.
She worked as a secretary at the former Stan Gregory Insurance in Galion. Doris was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Galion where she was a Lay Minister, Deacon, Elder and sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Presbyterian Women’s Association; Co-Operative Christian Services; Galion Community Hospital Women’s Auxiliary and TWIG #4 where she served as a volunteer.
Doris is survived by two daughters, Jodie (Jim) Turner of Galion and Dawn (Gary) Hahn of Dayton, Ohio; six grandchildren, Robin (Jesse) Stock, Ryan Kinnamon, Andrew Kinnamon, Jennifer (Dan) Mohorick, Sandy (Jason) Bailey and Andrea Turner; 10 great-grandchildren, Alia, Addyson, Marissa, Christian, Trevor, London, Bryson, Emma, Devin (Casey), Logan and Jason, Jr. and a great-great-grandchild, Liberty.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Allemeire.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2021, at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday with Rev. Gary Proietti officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Galion.
