Doris Ferguson was a beautiful Christian woman who took care of her home and husband. Doris M. Ferguson 92, of Galion, is now with her Lord and Savior after passing away on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Avita Galion Hospital.

She was born September 23, 1928, in Metamora, Indiana, and was the daughter of Leonard and Laura (Hunter) Fox. Doris is survived by her husband of 73 years, William R. “Ray” Ferguson whom she married on December 25, 1947.

She worked at the former North Electric in Galion and was a member of the Southview Baptist Church in Galion. Doris simply adored her grandchildren and took pride in them following Jesus. She loved cooking for family gatherings and will be remembered for her pies.

In addition to her husband she is survived by four daughters, Linda (Jerry) Mathias of Mansfield, Deborah (Roger) Smith of Mansfield, Melissa (Paul) Campbell of Galion, and Melanie (John) Mathias of Blue Springs, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, Traci (Mikael) Blido, Travis (Flower) Blackburn, Aaron (Rizza) Blackburn, Shawn (Lisa) Smith, Joshua (Larissa) Smith, Zachary (Bethany) Mathias, Molly (Matthew) Sutliffe, Connor Campbell, Taylor Campbell, Chris (Crystal) Campbell and Shaun Campbell:16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Sims of Columbus, Indiana, Martha (David) Smith of Galion and Janet Peters of Fairfield, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Gail Fox of Fairfield, Ohio and Zyrada Fox of West Chester, Ohio; brother-in-law, Fred Hurley of Mason, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Southview Baptist Church, 6904 Crawford-Morrow County Line Road., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 2:00 p.m., with Rev Cliff Hartley officiating.
